burnished red and gold

staining nature’s pattern

rich with glorious shades

‘light’ of my heart

how bright you shine

your wonder all around

paints beauty every time

before winter’s storms

you bring the gift

of twirling wind blown leaves

falling softly to the ground.

The waves roared

Their anger unchained

A black deep mirrored the darkening sky

Far and wide the blackness grew

Swelling up and over the boundaries

Searching out the land anew

The world stilled and life sank low

As dying earth held its breath

Then a Great Light on the horizon sparkled hope

A silver edged cloud

With sun rays peeping through

Reminded me of You

Yet cast into stormy seas

As waves crash against the soul

Tumbling unanchored falling fast

Down through the ages

Mankind travels

Seeing only through a glass darkly

The silhouettes of images past 

As long lost lanes beckon

Shadows lengthen and sunlight dims

Grey clouds gather shedding tears

Then Jesus Christ appears

To calm the turmoil

And heal the pain

Going Home we follow Him again.

Eyes on distant hills relax their gaze
See fields of bright yellow and green
Created patchwork’s quilted colour

Light winds hover
And sunlight makes dizzy a mirage
Shimmering edges loosen
Nothing solid in vision’s mind

All in light tremble and are blended in
One energy of love Divinely shaped
Everywhere no separation seen

Stays now held and connected
Finds the eternal Oneness
To heal and cradle me

Its icy blasts chill the soul

Crying for a love lost

It searches for warm sunlight

Travelling down the ages

Along tangled paths

It shies away beyond the edge

Where loneliness lives

Quietness fills this border

Far from worldly noise

It is a place to rest

In Heavenly poise

But a soul can not live

Past this margin for long

It must search out

And find its lover’s song

Now in some other place

Wandering in haunted towns

And city streets

Looking for what vanished

Through careless love.

Mighty Arms reach out

As ‘The Bright Morning Star’ rides high

With a loud shout

He gathers in

To finish all sin

Above, His radiance shone

Then everyone

Fell down

With heads bent low

The world shook

And loosed from chains

His beloved He took

Healing rain refreshes
Fleeing tyranny, He holds still
And bids the runner stay
Under His Shadow
Dwelling in the secret place
With the Most High

Love bound, knows The Path
Bravery alongside fear not known before
Leaps in the way of harm
To cover and protect
Keeps safe the driven ‘Dove’
Whose peace remains outside of turmoil

Longing shifts the gear to speed ahead
Ignoring doubt, recognizes this ugly source
As invalid, empty, weak and dead
Clear and sure the work in Him
Surfs Living Waters
Steering now His Holy course

Running wild
I thought I was free
That You never knew me
And could never find me

Then You caught me
When I wasn’t looking
Your Arms held on tight
I could not fight

Your Love overpowered me
It shone so bright
It’s unbearable beam saw me
As I struggled to be free

It had captured me
Raptured me
Before I could leave
In its Lover’s Kiss I drowned

Such anguished joy
Burned through my heart
As I tasted this fruit
I knew I could not ever leave

I can not speak
Of this Love Divine
It cuts too deep
And shows my shame

Above it all
He rides again
Closer than a lover
Pulling me in

Then He takes me Home
To be with Him
In a Paradise
Once lost
But now forever sewn within.

As dark clouds gather

Bare trees pollarded

Stretch out with anguished fists

Raised high against their ravaged frame

The wind roared

Cold against my skin

And the rain poured in

Crying nature’s tears

Whipping at blushed cheeks

A Light shimmers 

Spreading across the ground

Stirring life beneath the barren land

Waves of brightness everywhere

Bleach the blackness paler still

Then lighter the blazing patches grew

Where tired nature’s heart was broken through

Swallowing the darkness with it’s brilliant hue

Sparkling breezes move across Earth’s face

Clinging firm and holding edges clear 

Sharp like crystal

The breath of life this Silver Light

Sweeping over and between the land

As God’s Consuming Fire of Love  stands

Healing and renewing

Springing up and burgeoning through

While worn Earth a new Heaven grew
