This is the first month of the religious calendar and the sixth month of the civic calendar. It is also known by its Babylonian name Abib. Exodus 12:1-2 (NIV) says, “The Lord said to Moses and Aaron in Egypt, ‘This month is to be for you the first month, the first month of your year.’”

Can you imagine?! How powerful the Lord is to give the Israelites manna, their clothes did not wear out, and their feet did not swell at all during this time! The supernatural entered the natural while they were journeying those 40 years. God was removing the natural out of them, revealing how in their hearts they were murmurers, complainers, and that they had lived in bondage so long they had brought that bondage with them into their freedom.
