About

WHO ARE OUR POETS, SONGWRITERS AND WRITERS?

We are an gently-growing group of like-minded poets, songwriters, writers and artists, of all ages and backgrounds from all parts of the planet, who started gathering together in 2020. We are drawn together by The Triune God / The Creator (The Holy Trinity’s three personalities or collectively three persons in One: God the Father, God the Son Jesus Christ, and God the Holy Spirit – I love the Hebrew names for God:  Adonai Elohim, Yeshush HaMashiach and Ruach HaKodesh), to share writing and art that can and does shine a light, inspire and touch the hearts of others.

We are being guided by the FOUNDER, (The Creator / Our Triune God), to bring samples of our work to you, and to a global audience in support of the individual walk of each one we reach. In addition we desire that Red Thread Poets reaches you in ways that fellowship and minister to you and stimulate your influence on others in the ways and business of our Almighty God.

OUR PURPOSE

We mobilize poets, songwriters, writers and artists, to provide inspiration to our global audience as they individually strive to transform their lives and the lives of others; spiritually, physically, intellectually and emotionally for the glory of The Creator / The Triune God.

Our desire is it that Our Purpose incorporates what is frequently called mission, vision or cause. We use ‘purpose’ here deliberately, influenced by this verse:

The Lord Almighty has sworn, “Surely, as I have planned, so it will be, and as I have purposed, so it will happen.” Isaiah 14:24. NIV

In a nutshell if you think of Our Purpose as a Cause, we would say it is overtly to inspire you and those searching for greater meaning in their lives, in whatever causes you each may have in your life.

SO, please inspire us – tell us about the cause in your life.

OUR CORE VALUES

  •   Obedience to God Almighty / The Creator / The Triune God
  •   Identifying ourselves as followers of Jesus Christ
  •   Being inspiring and empowering
  •   Joyfully serving and loving others

STATEMENT OF FAITH

If you haven’t picked up on this already, we believe and follow God Almighty. We believe in salvation by faith in Jesus Christ who died for the sins of the whole of mankind. We believe in the inerrancy of the Holy Bible, allowing for mankind’s translation imperfections, and we believe that God Almighty further reveals to us Their nature as we as individuals and nations have the capacity to handle such revelations. Our God is a Mighty and Awesome God.

Red Thread Poets is the non profit, non fund raising ministry of peterwill stevens.

They also have links to their own media and publications, we are delighted to support them in promoting their work.

In some places, where we may only refer to poets, please remember that ‘poets’ includes songwriters writers and artists, who are poets in our view, ‘no discussion’!

RANGE OF WRITING

We all are unique human beings, designed by Almighty God, ‘in their image, after their likeness’  (see Genesis 1:26 ‘Then God said, “let us make mankind in our image, after our likeness” …’),

… each one of us is different – like every snowflake is different.

Ephesians 2:10 says “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them”. KJV

Note that workmanship in Greek is ‘poiēma’  – each on of us is God’s poem – that God has made.

We each have different talents and capabilities, destinies, identies, parents and ancestors (known or not known), siblings (or not), environments, experiences, pressures, pains, doubts, abuse, loss, struggles, success and failures (you may keep the list going!). Expect to see that range of writing in the work of the poets, songwriters and writers here, as they express themselves.

Your work  can be long, short, freeform, rhyming, on their own, or in a group under a theme.

This is an individualistic creative fellowshipping endeavour, as we worship The Lord God together.

So, it’s not surprising that things within an individual’s ‘wheelhouse’ may not seem quite right to some; yet may resonate hugely to others.

We cherish this diversity, we welcome it. We also welcome different understandings of God’s Word, we are not here to preach or preference, save to present under the wings and feathers of Our Lord Jesus Christ. We also welcome those who are learning new things that Our Triune God is revealing in these turbulent times.

Examples will be seen where we are being empowered to help those who have been exposed to the extremes of evil, and as we learn more about our design and the undiscovered inheritances that Our Triune God is revealing in this season and all that He has for us.

If you choose to submit a selection of your work, the only ‘hurdle’ will be a small handful of our Participants!

COLLABORATION

You should not be surprised to learn that our poets gathering here subscribe to Our Purpose and that they are in agreement with being described as ‘our’ or Red Thread Poets poets, songwriters, writers and artists. It is just a convenient way to talk! Note that we have no rights to their work as indicated for each poiēma.

PHILOS1

I consider myself the  Founder’s Assistant, following The Lord’s direction in building this project of His. My name is Peter William Stevens.

As humans, living on this earth, we learn that we are spiritual beings in a physical form, which is usually quite a shock. When we come to know Our God, who calls himself I AM, we eventually learn, and it can also take a lifetime, that we have a human spirit.2  And as such our spirit is, to some degree I do not understand, concurrently present in Heaven, enabling us to understand that we are ‘in Christ’, as Christ is in us. Thus, our human spirits are trans-dimensional.

How then, is it that a retired accountant, who never wrote ‘a God poem’ in his life until 2017, has been led and mandated to assist in the building of Red Thread Poets, its incubation and manifestation in the world? So this is my why:

In 2014, I deeply felt the significance of the blood path covenant role in The Covenant Abram observed in his dream in Genesis 15. It hit me like a rock, it was the one initial and singular event causing me to be here today. Covenant.

I wish to thank Red Thread Poets, and all of you who follow. May you all be blessed and honoured as you join us in this work to honour and glorify our so deserving glorious Triune God, to whom we all will be eternally grateful.

1Philos, pronounced fee’-los. Strong’s G5384 references ‘Friend’ in John 15:14 KJV: Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.

21 Thessalonians 5:23 KJV: And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

GRACE

Lastly, and no particular connection to Red Thread Poets, our dear departed Great Dane, whose name, and life is one of so many representations of our absolutely joyous and marvellous Triune God.

The sunrise photograph on the POEMS & SONGS page was memorable as The Lord lit up the sky, in celebration of her life, three mornings in a row over the eastern end of Lake Ontario at Fifty Point Conservation Park.
